What the Pluto MC line means
Pluto overhead gives work depth and intensity. Careers in crisis, finance, psychology, research or anything that deals with what is hidden can reach real power here, and your public life may be remade entirely. Expect intensity, rivalry and little privacy. Use the power carefully; this line amplifies both integrity and its absence.
On the Pluto MC you tend to be handed the jobs nobody else wants to touch: the turnaround, the investigation, the department that needs taking apart and putting back together. People sense you'll go to the bottom of things. They trust you with what's hidden, and then they watch closely while you deal with it.
Power is the line's subject, so expect to meet the people who hold it. Office politics run deep, rivals are serious, and a promotion here often comes with a test of what you'll do with it. Work done on this line carries weight, and so do the shortcuts, which is why the textbook reading keeps coming back to integrity.
The people who choose it want their work to matter more than they want an easy life: researchers, psychologists, investigative journalists, anyone rebuilding a career from the foundations. Keep a private life well away from the office, because a Pluto MC will otherwise leave you very little of one.
Where it runs
The Pluto MC line runs from pole to pole along a single meridian of longitude. Everywhere on it, Pluto was on the meridian at the top of its daily arc when you were born. Your Pluto IC line is the other half of the same circle, 180° of longitude away.
Distance and birth time
A line is a band, not a wall. Zenith Map's scores count a line in full on it, about 60% at 250 km, about 14% at 500 km and not at all beyond 1,000 km. Astrocartographers draw the edge in different places; the methodology page gives the reasoning for this one.
Every line in a chart moves west by a quarter of a degree of longitude for each minute later the birth: about 28 km at the equator and 14 km at 60° latitude. A time rounded to the nearest quarter hour can put your Pluto MC line up to about 200 km from where it's drawn, which is why the map draws bands when you say the time is approximate.
Questions
Is the Pluto MC line good for career?
Few lines are stronger for work with depth and stakes: research, psychology, investigation, crisis management, turnarounds and anything that deals with what's hidden. The Pluto MC brings power and scrutiny together, so it suits anyone who wants influence and can live with rivalry and little privacy.
Is the Pluto MC line bad?
No, though it asks a lot. Public life runs hot on a Pluto MC: power struggles at work, rivals, scrutiny, and sometimes a career that ends one form and takes another. The line is kindest to anyone arriving with a clear purpose and clean hands.
