What the Neptune MC line means
Neptune overhead can make you a symbol: artists, healers, spiritual teachers and people in film and music often do their most inspired work here. The same line blurs: reputations dissolve as easily as they form, promises mislead, and clarity about money and roles is hard to keep. Create here; sign contracts somewhere else.
Projection is how this line works. People look at someone on their Neptune MC and see what they hope for: the gifted one, the healer, the face of the cause. Work that sells a mood or a vision can use that; photographers, dancers, poets, charity workers, carers and people in advertising or shipping all turn up in the standard lists for this line.

The Neptune MC line runs from pole to pole along a single meridian of longitude. Everywhere on it, Neptune was on the meridian at the top of its daily arc when you were born. Your Neptune IC line is the other half of the same circle, 180° of longitude away.
Distance and birth time
A line is a band, not a wall. Zenith Map's scores count a line in full on it, about 60% at 250 km, about 14% at 500 km and not at all beyond 1,000 km. Astrocartographers draw the edge in different places; the methodology page gives the reasoning for this one.
Every line in a chart moves west by a quarter of a degree of longitude for each minute later the birth: about 28 km at the equator and 14 km at 60° latitude. A time rounded to the nearest quarter hour can put your Neptune MC line up to about 200 km from where it's drawn, which is why the map draws bands when you say the time is approximate.

The Neptune MC lends work an inspired quality and makes your public image larger than life, which suits music, film, painting, photography, dance and writing. The catch is clarity: roles, credit and terms blur easily here, so keep them in writing.
Which careers struggle on a Neptune MC line?
Careers that run on precision can find it hard going: anywhere a vague brief, a misread figure or an unclear role costs you. Blurred roles and reputations go with the Neptune MC, so jobs that need sharp edges feel slippery on it. Imaginative, caring and spiritual work fares much better.
