What the Venus IC line means
With Venus beneath you, domestic life turns pleasant and comfortable. Homes here are places you want to decorate and stay in, family ties soften, and the land itself feels kind. It suits settling, nesting and long holidays. The indulgent side of Venus shows at home too: ease can become inertia.
The Venus IC line is about where you sleep, not where you shine. Homes on it tend to feel right straight away: the light, the street, the pace of the place. You want to paint the walls and stay in. Family tensions often ease here, which makes it a classic choice for a second home, for retiring, or for bringing up small children somewhere calm.
Nothing on the IC is very public, so the gift shows on an ordinary Tuesday evening rather than on your CV. That's also the risk. A home this pleasant can swallow ambition, and the money Venus brings goes into cushions and kitchens while the rest of life narrows. If you settle on it, keep one thing going outside the house that asks something of you.
Where it runs
The Venus IC line runs from pole to pole too, half a world away from the Venus MC line. Everywhere on it, Venus was on the meridian at the bottom of its daily arc when you were born.
Distance and birth time
A line is a band, not a wall. Zenith Map's scores count a line in full on it, about 60% at 250 km, about 14% at 500 km and not at all beyond 1,000 km. Astrocartographers draw the edge in different places; the methodology page gives the reasoning for this one.
Every line in a chart moves west by a quarter of a degree of longitude for each minute later the birth: about 28 km at the equator and 14 km at 60° latitude. A time rounded to the nearest quarter hour can put your Venus IC line up to about 200 km from where it's drawn, which is why the map draws bands when you say the time is approximate.

Is the Venus IC line a good place to live?
It's one of the gentlest lines for a home base, read as comfort, beauty and an easier family life. It's better for settling and recovering than for building a career, which is the MC line's territory.
How is the Venus IC line different from the Venus DSC line?
The IC is home and roots; the DSC is other people. On the IC line the pleasure is in your own space, on the DSC it arrives through partners. Near the equator the two lines run about a quarter of the world apart, and they meet far to the north or south.
